April 17th represents for every Malbec producing vineyard in Argentina a great celebration as it is Malbec World Day.

This event commemorates the day on which President Domingo Faustino Sarmiento of Argentina officially made it his mission to transform Argentina's wine industry. On April 17th 1853, Sarmiento tasked Michel Aimé Pouget, a French soil expert, to bring new vines to Argentina. Among the varietals, Pouget brought Malbec.

This helped Argentina’s wine industry to make it what it is today: 75% of the global production of Malbec is grown in Argentina, specially in the Mendoza region.

Curaçao on a lockdown: Kome now makes take away menus!

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Curaçao is going through lockdown to stop new cases infecting the Island.

As so, Kome restaurant, based in Willemstadt, now offers takeaway meals to their customers, just as qualitative and appreciable as in the restaurant. The team prepares excellent menus, to share or not with your lockdown partners, and to taste at home!

Demain, l'Igloo de Sallen démarre une nouvelle aventure!

La pizzeria Normande, située dans la commune de Sallen, près de Caumont-sur-Aure, va connaître un renouveau dès demain, une première depuis son ouverture en 2014.

En effet, l’Igloo de Sallen sera à partir du 20 Mars prochain une pizzeria-brocante! Entre pizzas à emporter et bonnes affaires à chiner dans le restaurant, nous vous invitons à venir découvrir (ou redécouvrir!) nos pizzas et les différents objets qui pourraient vous intéresser!

L’Igloo de Sallen, et son four à bois traditionnel âgé de 166 ans, aura connu bien des changements depuis son installation dans le restaurant. Désormais vous pourrez venir l’admirer tout en emportant une pizza et en vous procurant bricoles, mobiliers, décorations et bien d’autres bonnes affaires!

Alpasión has begun the 2021 harvest!

The 2021 harvest began last week in the Alpasión vineyard, located in the Uco Valley, Tunuyàn, Argentina.

The harvest started with the Chardonnay and the Sauvignon Blanc grapes during the first week of March. It will last until the last week of April with grape varieties such as Malbec, Cabernet Franc and even Petit Verdot.

After that, the snow will cover the vineyard, as it is located 1200m high in the Andes mountains.

The great wines that will be made with these new grapes should be available next year!

Congratulations to the Inga foundation for their Royal Society article !

The Inga Foundation which helps protect the environment by saving rain forest areas from slash and burn farming while ensuring local farmers have enough to eat and a sustainable lifestyle, has just seen the Royal Society publish the whole story of the science behind what Inga is doing in the world’s rainforests and the Land for Life Project itself that grew from that science.

The 361 year-old academic association, which is also the United Kingdom's national academy of sciences, has shared a study representing the years of work and effort that have been brought to this project. This very detailed study will enable you to discover why the Guama model is so important for our planet and for local Honduran farmers.
